Carl, thanks for your reply and the enlightenment.  I now understand 
what you were actually referring to.  Your description of the QSK delay 
makes sense because I can hear the Orion's T/R relay clicking in synch 
with my keying irrespective of the delay setting.  So they're only 
controlling the time that the audio's off while the T/R relay follows 
the keying.

I understand the function of the "Ext T/R delay" for the amplifier, but 
would it also control the delay of the relays in the Orion?  That might 
solve the limitations on the delay at slower CW speeds that I was 
referring to and also minimize wear and tear on the Orion's T/R relay?  
I'll check it.
