[TenTec] Filter weasels

When I ordered my OMNI VI+ and traded my Paragon II, TT suggested that I remove all the optional filters (1.8khz, 500 Hz, and 250 Hz) for use in my new radio rather than buying new filters as they would not give credit for the old ones in the Paragon.

When I sold my Omni-D (with filters) to a friend, I made sure he understood the price included the cost of all optional installed filters or that I would need to remove them for installation in my (then) new Corsair-II which I did later order with all filters installed.

Personally I don't see the issue as long as both sides of the transaction understand that installed optional filters add to the base cost of the radio. Its pretty straight forward, you want a narrow filter... pay for it!

It's like this. TenTec (factory) removes all optional filters from their
used radios and sells the rig for X amount. That sets the base price for the
rig. Anyone advertising their rig for more than what the factory wants
(filters or no filters) would be hard pressed to get their money. So....the
weasely thing to do is remove them and sell them separately.
  Weaslism is contagious.
