Steve,   There are many "commercial" mfrs. of adjustable DC power supplies,
have overvoltage protection, current limiting, etc on the surplus market.  I
have used several and still do.  No fan, no hum, run cool.  Ugly, but who
cares.  New will be at least twice as much as the "ham variety".   Used very
cheap.

I hate electronic stuff with fans in them and my Astron supplies both
have bothersome HUMS. I want a power supply that makes NO noise. No hum,
no fan, just 20-25 amps of 13.8vdc. Any suggestions? Oh yes BTW, I have
a TT 262 supply that hums too! Not loud but still, I can hear it. I want
silence.
