Use a little DeOxit on the display connector, problem solved.

Yes Richard, that is a pretty common problem. However it's also rather easy
to fix, in most cases. Just remove the top cover (power off of course!)
remove and re-seat the cable going to the connector on the display board.
Those connectors get 'dirty' after long periods of time, and often reseating
them fixes that type of problem. If reseating doesn't fix the problem, try
cleaning the connector pins with some type of cleaning fluid.
