TT [TenTec] Orion is going back to dealer... sorry !

Tom,

I read most the post with amusement. I do not post much myself but I can say
I have never had a SINGLE PROBLEM yet. I am sure some radios do have
problems but I wonder if it is just as many times the operator as it is the
radio. Maybe I just do not use my enough ways and just never happen to
fumble on a problem but you would think sometime or another I would have
since June 2003. I have owned Drake, Yaesu, Kenwood, and Icom and for me
this is the best radio I have ever owned. I admit I have never owned a 7800
Icom and will not pay that much for a radio. Of course everyone likes
different radios just like cars.

I'm glad to see there is at least one honest ham who has decided that he
will not 'hang on to' the Orion until it's ready for production! My blind
faith in Ten Tec has kept my Orion with me for 14 months. After paying
almost $3800 for this radio, I still am waiting for it to operate like a
$3800 radio should work. Meaning flawless, with no bugs, and no glitches
which seem to change with every release of firmware. All of the test bench
testing in the world, specifically about the excellent IMD numbers, do not
excuse this expensive radio from still having so many problems some two
years after it went into 'production'.

I am fortunate in that I kept my Omni 6.
