Duane,

If you haven't already, maybe try the memory reset. I certainly don't know
for sure, but that sounds more like a memory problem than a firmware problem
(my guess only). (Hold down VFO B Lock button and power cycle. It comes up
with a 'Battery Test' note, but supposed to reset the memory)
