Not sure about the "oscillation" thing in the power supply, but Ten Tec
radios do not fold power back under high-SWR conditions and depend on the
Ten Tec power supply's ability to limit current supplied to the radio in
order to protect the finals. There may be an oscillation happening in the
radio that is causing it to to draw excessive current and since your supply
is not limited, that may be affecting the finals. Ten Tec used to sell an
outboard circuit breaker for "foreign" supplies that went between the rig
and supply to provide the same protection. I'd suggest getting that or an
equivalent in your setup.
