Chip ran away like a little girl when confronted on the FT100  list.. They 
(all of Yeasu) stuck their heads in the sand with that rig and let  everyone 
high and dry with the problems which plagued it.. The solution was  simple, to 
fix the radios sitting on the shelves before they were sold, this  wasn't 
undertaken until the May 2001 run of FT100 D's where they began  installing 1 of the 
3 needed mods.. The others were done when the rig was sent  back at your loss 
and expense and the lead time for repair or  modification was up to 3 months.
 
  This rig could have been the multiband mobile that all others were  judged 
by. If the FTDX9K was a lemon, you wouldn't see a Yaesu employee within  50 
miles of the Yahoo group there..
