[TenTec] Heil Pro-Set to Omni V

I would like to use a Heil Pro-Set with HC-5 with an Omni V for contesting. 

I have been told that the Pro-Set will require a pre-amp to increase the mike audio....

Is this true?? 

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!!
