I have never seen anything "official" regarding 2
versions of the firmware.  What I saw was some idle
speculation that there would "have" to be 2 versions. 
One could just as easlily write the code to be
processor aware and install what is needed for either
Orion.    

I guess Ten Tec programmers should be working on this
day and night even though it's Christmas in the
Smokies and they have families etc.  God knows if we
don't get V2 before the New Year there will be hell to
pay, but then if they released it today and it was
buggy there would be hell 2 pay so I guess the common
denominator is there is going to be hell to pay for
the free upgrade no matter when its released.  If I
was a Ten Tec programmer I might ask the question: if
there is only hell to pay, why bother with an early
release?  I'd just enjoy the holidays and wait till
after the holidays to pay hell.
