[TenTec] V. 1.08?

There's no question the Argonaut firmware Version 1.08 does exist and it
does require a hardware change. I have made the hardware changes (did them
in late November 2004) and like others I have been not so patiently waiting
for the promised release of version 1.08. (I have posted the hardware
changes on my website.)
The last word I had from the factory, about a week ago, was that they were
still working on the documentation (I assume for the hardware changes). The
factory is releasing new rigs with 1.08 and installing 1.08 on rigs sent in
for repair. As others have mentioned, they will do a specific retrofit for
a nominal charge.
Unfortunately, they will not release 1.08 (yet) to those of us who have made
the hardware changes. Our only options are to send them the rig or wait.
Sending the factory an already modified rig from outside the US simply to
get the firmware kind of defeats the purpose of a software upgradeable rig.
So I wait - and check the factory and Rfsquared websites daily.

Rick
