[TenTec] omni 6 plus question

i have purchased and installed both of the 2.8 inrad filters. i have them 
installed in the 250 hz cw and nar 2 slots. is this ok? the thing i have observed 
is when i have them selected, its like i have turned on a 10 db preamp as 
well. going back to the stock 2.4 and 1.8, the s meter readings are back in line 
with all the other rigs i have. is  this normal? did i do something wrong? i 
just want to be sure i am not hurting the rigs performance.
