True. You need to use a narrow filter on the receive end to filter out the fuzz. Then they sound almost normal. 
I don't believe firmware has much effect on transmitted byproducts.

  I am most concerned with Ten Tec fixing the Fuzzy sounding TX CW note that's produced by the Jupiter.  I've bought 2 of them over a 2 year period, same thing on both, fuzzy CW TX note.  Every Jupiter I hear on the air sounds the same way.  That's a shame!
