If you run the AGC in the Orion at 0 hang you can
easily make the audio clip by adjusting the decay
slope to a very steep rate.  Clipping is the
definition of non-linearity.  3rd order and 5th order
are extrapolated measures of the point where the
transfer function becomes non-linear.  

It is much harder to clip the slower AGC setting,
since the dynamics of the feedback loop are damped by
the hang and are not as liable to clip no matter what
the slope.  It's like the difference between a hi Q
and a low Q circuit.
