Denton, I think you should try the "Ugly Balun" that Bob (K4TAX) described a
few weeks ago.  It was made of coax wound on PVC pipe with cord providing
the spacing between the turns.

Yes...vertical hanging loop...I have fed the loop at the top with twin lead 
before and it works fine, but am trying to eliminate using a balun at 
tuner's output.
Have used a Johnson Matchbox with the twin lead before so know it will work 
fairly well.
