[TenTec] Paragon

Although the Tentec Paragon manual states that one can use an alkaline
battery or a Ni-Cad battery it is not advised to use the alkaline battery
for the reason stated by Jim. A 9 volt Ni-Cad will work just fine. Be sure
to follow the exact procedure for initially connecting the battery. Failure
to do so can or will corrupt the ROM operating system.
