[TenTec] 6 Meter Operation

Bill & company:

Very true, across the pond contacts can be made on 6 with a wire and 10
watts or so. Openings are at odd times an often brief, lasting from a few
minutes to a few hours. Add a beam to the station and the openings will be
useable for a longer period of time. Add some power to your station and
you'll be able to work the folks that are using a transverter barefoot and a
wire antenna.

If you can find a dedicated channel 2 TV antenna, 4 elements or so, add some
wire loops to the ends to lower the frequency slightly, add a 4:1 balun and
feed it with 50 ohm RG-8 foam coax. Lightweight, inexpensive and works.
And if the neighbors question the antenna "hey, it's only a TV antenna".
