Rick - tell more please. With my Omni, I feel the 1.8 filters are a bit
too narrow for SSB work. I find the 2.4 to be oddly narrow as well. I
definitely get less lows and highs through that filter than my TS-830s
does through it's 2.4 KHz filter. The TT 2.4 also seems to cut some of
the highs that contribute to intelligibility. I'm not sure if I have an
issue with my rig or if that's the way they were.
With my 830s, I trim back the bandwidth (using VBT) to about 75% to get
the equivalent apparent bandwidth of the Omni V with the stock 2.4
filter.

Joe for SSB one of the best improvements for the Omni V is the
installation of InRad 2.8 kHz filters in BOTH I.F.s. These would
REPLACE the stock T-T
2.4 kHz filters.
I tried the T-T 1.8 kHz filters in the 1.8 and NAR slots and found them
a little too tight for my liking. As a compromise I installed a pair of
InRad
2.1 kHz filters in the 1.8 and NAR slots. This seemed a good
compromise.
You could also install the 2.8 kHz filters and try the stock 2.4 kHz
filters in the 1.8 and NAR slots.
