[TenTec] Orion II

The old adage of switching power supplies producing noise is really a thing
of the past. The new switchers are quiet and very reliable. Of course if
you buy a $35 bargain switching supply expect to get $25 worth of noise out
of it. On the other hand, a $150 switcher will deliver $150 worth of very
quiet, highly regulated DC.

A good switcher is worth at least 10 times it's weight. While a good linear
supply is almost worth its weight. When asked, why does it hum, well it's
because it doesn't know the words. -:)
