Replacing the coax with one of a different length often cures the trouble,
not because of the cable length but because when replacing the cable the

the reported problem occurred on only one band.  if the problem were loose 
connectors, don't you think the problem would be observed on other bands?  
or to put it another way,

On only one band?  I doubt it.
