[TenTec] 516 noise blanker

You're right, Clark, noise blankers represent tradeoffs. For example:

My Corsair: no distortion, but limited noise blanking ability.

Paragon: great blanking, but introduces distortion, typically key clicks 
on incoming signals.

Scout: Outstanding blanking, no distortion, but causes i.f. filter blowby.
