Then there is my favorite lube to free up old mechanisms, Triflow, an oil 
and teflon ball bearings mixture.  Powered spray penetrates and inserts 
microscopic teflon balls and the problem is solved.

Have used this many times and never have frozen bearings after that 
treatment.

Has been used to free up TT PTOs without tearing them down.
