some rather amusing comments here on Ten Tec pricing and the new innovative
Omni VII.

Pricing:

When was the last time Ten Tec had a sale? No, not sale on used stuff, or
demo items, or one of those one day only hamfest sales but a real sale for
an extended period on new merchandise for anyone anywhere. When was the
last time they threw in a free power supply? I think once they gave away
mics--WOW (JA Mfrs give you a mic every time). Icom products are routinely
discounted. The TS870 originally was around $3000 but I was able to
purchase one NEW with a coupon for $1600 two years ago. That's not bad.
The FT1000MP Mk V was originally $3.3 K and after a few years went for
$2100.

Ask yourselves--as Ten Tec ever done anything like that?? No, all they do
is RAISE prices. Yeah, what a deal.

Revolution in ham radio?:

<<<Well folks, this may actually be the start of a new revolution in ham
radio.
according to the info on site you can literally plug this into a router
at
you cabin on the peak of the mountain at 7000 feet and hook it up to the
solar panel battery bank, and operate from down town anywhere with a
computer.
this may be the answer to the HOA problem, with antenna restrictions.

so If I quickly run out and but a mountain top and sub divide into many
small (8 feet by 8 feet) parcels and run a router and power, can I retire
off
the
income, ( aww shucks , I already am retired)

In reality, it may be an answer to the prayers of the antenna restricted.

good job Ten Tec, and I see and orange dot in the future.>>>

You obviously have not been following Kenwood products--the TS480 has
allowed remote control over the internet for as long as it has been
available. 2 or 3 years now at least.
