The display is the receiver zero beat or SSB carrier frequency at all
times. Neither the display nor the receiver frequency changes when
changing mode or keying the transmitter. Unlike the Omni V and VI that
change from USB receive on the higher bands to LSB receive when switched
to CW which when used with a transverter on VHF where mixed mode QSOs
are not rare drives the user through the wall. Or Yaesu FT-726 and 736
multimodes that move the receiver 800 Hz without changing the display
when switching from SSB to CW or back. Causes many lost contacts when
the alternate mode is needed instantly to complete the contact.

The Corsair II is simple and makes operation simpler than any
alternatives.
