Ron,

Have you tried doing a reset?  On my Orion I, I can have very low audio in
the headphone jack, but the speaker is fine.  Ten-Tec is aware of the
problem.  It may be the same on the Orion II.

I've noticed the same issue with my Orion II; great audio with the speaker
and not as great with the headphones plugged into the Orion's headphone
jack.

I solved the problem by plugging my headphone into the Icom SP-20 External
Speaker.  Looks like TenTec needs to fix the Orion's phone jack circuitry.

Turn your af gain to 50% and set the rf gain to where you just can hear the
band noise.
