Martin,

Thank you for sharing your reasoning with this list.

I have to say that I do not at all understand your logic related to the
qsling.

Snip "If someone is badly distorted and therefore stops me hearing the
rest of the signals I will work them to get rid of them but the log has
a nil
mark so that they do not get a QSL card." Snip

If an operator request a card for a 2 way qso, being distorted or not, I
think it's deserved. After all you can reflect your opinion in the RST,
"R" being readability.

Season greetings,

Henrik OZ1ING

I have monitored these lists for a coupla of years. I have an Orion 1
and now 2 as well.
I cannot resist a short comment on calling DX with "processed" signals.
I get my share of piles especially in contests where they can be 20 or
30 deep after I'm put on packet.
I always work the cleanest clearest signal first. They usually have less
lows and more highs in their audio but they are clean. That is why
sometimes a QRP signal gets through before the KW.
If someone is badly distorted and therefore stops me hearing the rest of
the signals I will work them to get rid of them but the log has a nil
mark so that they do not get a QSL card. In a contest if they are not a
new mult I may not even log them at all.

Simply the cleanest clearest signal gets through first - not just from
operator choice but because they come through the pile best.

P.S. HiFi audio is not good for cracking a pile up - too much power
wasted in the lows where there is no intelligibility.
