[TenTec] Ocean noise

Does the Orion have more gain than the FT-1000?  If the Orion has 20 dB more 
gain then I would expect to measure 20 dB more noise.  Factually listening 
is a very poor measurement in this situation.  Bandwidth is also a factor.

I know folks in the past that are noted to crank everything to the max and 
proclaim "boy that receiver is sure noisy".
