I sure agree with that. I have had my Orion for about 8 months and I  
continue to learn.
 
I got the transmit audio peaked by the wifi ssber'ers who used to hang at  
3.840( roll off at 100 and BW at 3300), and learned about setting the receive  
agc threshold to below .50 and  to turn on some attenuation, lower the rf  gain 
and raise the audio level, for those in the mud signals, ( cuts the noise  
before it get amplified.) and by playing around I have found out how to make it  
sound good to me.
 
with the rx bw down at 1800 to 2400 cycles, and the pbt at -40, it makes a  
crowded ssb band in a contest sound like every one is 5 kc's apart and behaving 
 themselves., and on cw you can take it down to 1 signal with the band width 
of  100 cycles.
 
there is so much you can do, it just takes a while to set it up for your  
situation, and once you learn how to play with it, it is a ball.
