Yep, I thought of that....

Much easier to cut the black and white wires in half, push the connector's
wires through the grommet, and solder the wires back together

Ron, NU1U  (needed some excuse to use that soldering station)

What you have to do is pull the two coax cables throuth the grommet and 
then the connector will go through. Then push the two coax cables back 
through and reconnect them.
