FWIW -  I experienced annoying internal keyer issues like you described with
my Orion... only noticed it after downloading the latest firmware.   

No such issues with my Orion II.  I've logged in a few hours of cw rag chews
with the new radio and find the O2's internal keyer a delight in comparison.

I have not had a problem using the internal keyer with my ORION II.  The
radio has been nearly bullet proof, in my use of it, with few and minor
exceptions.

  Please tell me more about the internal keyer problem.  Could this be RF
getting into your keying line?  I am getting ready to purchase an O2 and in
internal keyer is a big issue.  I have had a Corsair 2 for 18 years and the
keyer was excellent and never failed once.  Am I going to have to go by an
external keyer now?  That shoots up  the cost all the more.  I am bordering
on going back to the Yaesu FT 1000 MP if I have to keep buying extras to
make an EXPENSIVE radio work right.

inserts. Still may be me but this keyer is hard for me to use.
