Hi,

I think the difference in the audio response (such as the "click clack") may be attributable to differences in sensitivity and impedance.

At work I used to use some YH-1 Yamaha headphones but switched to a Sennheiser HD 280 when they reconfigured our office since the HD 280 have much better external sound attenutation.

I used to plug my headphones directly into the headphone output on the front of my desktop computer. With the HD 280 I can hear a very faint hum (kind of like a 60hz hum but at a much higher audio frequency) but only when I move the mouse cursor. With the Yamaha headphones the hum is inaudible. I've had some of my coworkers listen and they can also hear the difference...

I'd compare the impedance and sensitivity figures if you can find them...

I've used the HD-280 with my Orion I and don't have an issue with the "click clack" noise.

Using theSennheiser HD-202 phones the "click clack" of CW keying when sending isannoying, but with the Radio Shack Titanium Phones, it is not audible...Hmmm... So what is the difference?RonKA7U -----Original Message-----From: Ron [mailto:ron at morell.us]Sent: Monday, June 12, 2006 4:43 PMTo: TenTecReflectorSubject: Sennheiser HD 202 w/ handi cable clip Having faithfully read the numerous posts on head phones a while back onthis reflector, I decided to take a chance on the Sennheiser HD-202 headphones. Prior to these phones I have been using the Radio Shack Titaniumstereo headphones. So here is my 2 cents... The HD-202 phones seem to have a bit more "punch" especially at the lowfrequencies and therefore make cw easier to "hear". they seem to block outroom noise to a greater level then the Titanium phones. The HD-202 phonesare much warmer to wear and this becomes uncomfortable in short order attemperatures above 69 degrees F., whereas the Titanium phones are cool andlight to wear. So in conclusion, I recommend the Sennheiser HD 202 phones with the hadicable clip, for serious attentive listening, and Radio Shack Titanium phonesfor extended listening under less stressful conditions. Maybe a pair of Sony ear buds would be cool and effective, once I got overhaving my ears filled.RonKA7U
