[TenTec] OMNI VI - Binding of main tuning knob (not a dragadjustment issue)

On my Paragon I found a drop of light oil on the shaft made the tuning
smooth as silk again. Drag was still adjustable via the knob if desired.

Has anyone had a problem with the Rotary Encoder binding as you tune through
the band ? Any success in lubricating it ??? I have removed the main tuning
knob completely and can still feel the encoder binding somewhat. My OMNI 6
is
approximately 10 years old.

Would appreciate any comments.
