[TenTec] ringing in ears

Marty,
The condition is called tinnitus. It is very common after sudden and
excessive noise exposure, although there are many other things that can
cause it also. I have been fighting it since rifle range in Army many years
ago (now our soldiers get earplugs for the range, a great idea, but what you
can do in combat is beyond me). It also seems to get worse after a weekend
of CW contesting <g> No cure is known at this time but there are many
different kinds of alleviative measures, you may find one that helps you. I
think the vitamin supplement was B12 (I may not have remembered this
correctly) but again, it works for some patients but not for others. Try
looking at the American Tinnitus Association www.ata.org for starters.

I hope this gets posted, I can't remember which address gets it to the
reflector.
I have seen on TV reference to something the seems to work as a daily
vitamin
or such that is good at reducing ringing in the ear. I am one of those
early boomer's
at 62 here. I have noticed the ringing getting worse the last couple of
years. I am
going to ask my doctor at my next appointment next weekend but has
anyone else
had this condition. I am not a truck driver but my left ear seems to
have the ringing
the loudest or maybe only. My condition was probably a result of two
years in a
boiler room in the Navy, followed by about three years in a Navy P2,
then about
thirty one years in computer rooms at AT&T.
Anyone have this same problem?
