Now we are getting somewhere!

In the April QST, someone at the FCC is quoted as saying that hams are
communicators first and radio operators second.  In other words, you
don't always need the radio part -- e.g., Echolink.

That's almost like saying CW is obsolete!  But worth thinking about.
