For fun and not much $ try using a KLH model 979B indoor/outdoor speaker. 
They come in pairs and are rated at 4-6 ohms.  I use one with my Argosy II 
and it works great...low distortion...probably better than the  speaker in 
the 960 power supply that I used with a Corsair II. 4-6 Ohms is the key. 
Have not found 8 ohm speakers working well with earlier Ten Tec rigs.
