[TenTec] Orion Question

Grant, wouldn't a simple 12vdc relay work in this case?  Why would I need a transistor?  OR is it because the logic is reversed?  (in that case, use the opposite N.O. poles)

  It's just the TX OUT lines, which will pull a load to ground.
