Remember that the MIC settings on the Orion, and Orion II, depend significantly on the setting of the MIC gain hardware pot on the bottom of the Orion (back from the MIC connector) and on the firmware release being used. It is very difficult to compare any settings, or performance, between different firmware releases - particularly with the Version 2 firmware.
