No, I don't hear the nasty distortion I used to hear with 2.056.
However the action of the compressor is completely changed from v1.
No longer does the audio gain increase substantially when SP is
engaged, like in v1.  The gain actually falls off a bit with low
levels of SP.  But the compression of the audio is dramatic, and I
prefer to leave it off on 2.059.
