[TenTec] [QRP-L] Value of used Schuur Profi?

My last response was incorrect - I bought my Profi 2 in April 2000 for $275,
and I sold it for $225, not 375 and 325 as I had noted. It was one of the
ones still made by the original guy with the acrylic flip-up cover. It had
a problem for me that if not used for a week, the "dit" paddle would not
make contact when you started to use it again. A small piece of paper put
next to the contacts would pick up a dot of oil weeping from somewhere. It
was probably my having the contacts set too close that contributed to the
problem as I never heard of anyone else who reported it. For what it's
worth.

Doc,

I'm not sure what these sell for currently--you probably know that the
product is now being made by someone other than the original designer. That

doesn't mean they still aren't as good, but maybe yours will have some
additional value if it is "an original". Anyway, I bought one many years
ago, and it was something like $240. They probably sell for more now. But
I would think you could still get something close to that amount for it,
assuming it is in excellent condition. But remember, beauty is in the eye
of the beholder, so don't be offended if someone offers you less.
