Duane, I think the audio change you are referring to has to do with the gain taken out of the Orion V2 code in the previous release V2.059. It is a bit of an issue in the Orion because the Orion doesn't have the separate output amplifier that was put into the Orion II (Thus the menu item in the OIIs that doesn't exist in the Orion). It also effects the line out audio level. To compensate for the line level change, I changed out the sound card I use for digital mode and was able to get enough gain that I don't have to use the microphone input on the soundcard (Other problems with hum can easily develop when you go to the microphone input). Because there were so many problems with the earlier V2.059 release I just went back to V1.373b5.
However, this release, V2.060b, has really made significant strides towards high performance operation with full stability and some useful new features. I have stayed with this release and am thinking it may become my new standard operating release. I have communicated a few issues to Ten-Tec Engineering that I would still like to see addressed in the future.
Just a word of thanks to all of those that "saw problems" with the earlier releases and raised them here and in notes to Ten-Tec. Sometimes that is "awkward" on this forum as some seem confident that there are "no problems." As someone else said to me recently, TenTec does listen to the comments here, and through other channels, and continues to respond with improved products. This release fixed a lot of issues - many more then are listed in the fix notes. Thanks TEN-TEC!!
