Are you using SLOW qsk and having thumps?  Not on any of my three omni 6 
pluses do I hear any thumps. Gotta be missing something here.
Never use a side tone so cant help you there, but I have listened and 
thought it quite good, better than in the past.  I usually run between 60 
and 70 WPM using full QSK.  Any thumps would drive me up a wall, nice little 
ticking sound is great for me.
