If you have at least one PCI slot available, I strongly recommend the MOXA 
multi-port serial cards.  There is a 4 port and an 8 port available at 
reasonable cost, and they are also usually available used on the auction 
sites.  They work great on all versions of Windows (i'm now using one with 
MS Vista) as well as Linux (Fedora Core 4).  Just a thought.
