You seem to have an unusual problem, Alec. It might be helpful to also email
service at tentec.com and see if they could help with your question. Is the
only problem that it is a bit low in power output, or are there any other
symptoms such as rsidual carrier or distorted audio?

Hi all,

I have got Paragon 585 which was bought new straight from Ten-Tec.
It suffered from some sort of shock some time later and I have not
been able to cure it since then.

I simply cannot make it deliver more than 70 Wtts. Now I narrowed,
as I think, the problem to the TX/AUDIO/BFO board.
I found out that the output level on connector 37 is too low
and, later on, that there is no way to make the balanced modulator U5
(CA3053E)
go un-balanced. At first, I thought it might be the problem with the chip
(CA3053E),
so I replaced it, but it has changed nothing.

Is there any possibility someone could tell me what Vrms is present
on lead2 of U5, or give any other idea what might be the cause the
outgoing DSB signal is so low on that board,
please ?

Yours,
Alec
