John,  I agree completely.  Many of our mutual friends never touch a key or
paddles during a cw contest.  They can't understand why we do.  I suspect we
are just out of step, but I am happy and quite content doing things the old
way.

Now I can relate to this.  I don't even like computer
control of my radio during contesting.  Now I am not a
serious contester (don't have the time or money-I have
a 4 year old daughter, enough said), but controlling
the radio with the computer just doesn't seem right. 
That somehow just doesn't seem like radio.  I guess
you can use the contest logging software to do
everything and never touch the radio except to adjust
the volume, and maybe you can do that with the
software.  For me, I want to touch, adjust, and tune
the rig.  For me, that is radio!
