Like was suggested for the Argosy today, a quarterer drop of DeoxIT on
each connector pin can help as can tightening the board
mounting/grounding screws for all the boards. These two steps fix many
radio ills that can't be easily isolated by standard trouble shooting
techniques because getting close to one of these poor connection usually
fixes it temporarily.
