[TenTec] serious filter problem with Orion II

Try checking where you have the taps set under FILTER . I find that at other
than even spacings of 20 - the DSP will start oscillating at narrow
bandwidths when you vary the BW. It seems ok at taps set for 199 and you
can figure out which absolute numbers are usable after the contest.

To summarize:ON my OII - I know others can see this but at different
absolute tap numbers - but still spaced by 20.

1. You have to go down to tap 32 and then increase tap numbers from there to
get the sequence of numbers 32,37,42,47 ,52 etc etc. Once you have gone to
32 and start up , you can go up or down and repeat the same sequence of
numbers.

2. At tap positions 47,67,87,107,127,147,167, 187 I could not get any hollow
sounding artifacts or different hisses from the DSP filter no matter how
much I tweaked BW. It also appears anything between 187 and 199 is OK - at
least I did not get any glitches in my tweaking.I got a few times what
sounded like internally generated rough modulated carriers every few khz but
was not able to repeat this well enough to document them.

3. Any other tap position will glitch if you go down to 100 hz BW then up to
500 and back down and sometimes it builds up slowly.

4.Tap positions below about 122 seem to be more easily glitched than those
above 122.
