[TenTec] Gauge of wire from power supply question?

I have been having a problem on my Corsair II with gurgle on SSB voice  peaks.
I believe the gauge of wire from my Astron 35M to the Corsair II to be  #14.
That is the way I got it from previous owner.
I believe that this may be the problem.
What gauge of wire does Ten Tec use from the factory.
I would think that #12 at about 5 feet would be better.
I made a power cord for an OMNI V and used #12 wire.
If I sub that cord for the other I am told I have no gurgle on peaks.
I also notice hardly any bulb dim on the s meter with the Corsair using  that 
cord.
