[TenTec] Multiple Orion Antennas

Sinisia-

Thanks. A very definitive answer. I think I have nothing to worry about in
this regard. I do use Beverages on the aux connector, but I that port
protected by the ON4UN front end saver circuit. On occasion on one Beverage
I can dump around 25 mA into that device, which would make me a little
uneasy without protection.

There is no T/R relay in Orion.
Receivers are permanently connected
to the selected ANT connector.
Even unused ANT connectors have some
circuitry connected to them at all times.

However, there is receiver protection on ANT 1
and ANT 2 connectors, but not on AUX ANT.
The protection is designed to withstand
application of at least 100 W (i.e Orion's own TX).

The coupled power into RX antenna can be measured
easily using SWR/power meter and a dummy load.
Connect "TX" connector to the RX antenna,
and "ANT" connector to the dummy load.
Now transmit using TX antenna and read coupled
"forward" power.
