The receiver on the Argo V is great. I actually use the rig for Field Day
with batteries. It will drive any amp, and the output power depends
upon the finals. If you can find a small linear (Tokyo Hi Power for
example),
you should have no problems getting full output with 7 to 12 watts drive.

Well I would like to get a Omni VII but would have to rob a bank to pay for
it and that would not look good for a retired pastor! Guess I will
eventually get a Argonaut V. I do a lot of CW usually and 20 watts on CW is
just about equal to a 100 watts on SSB I think. What I actually have in mind
is getting a good receiver.
