Of course everything's the same. Same "stress and loss," same "wasted
heat and energy" (all quite minor due to low duty cycle).  No problemo.

I assume that the output of the A/C transformer and rectifiers in the
Ten-Tec power supplies is 24 VDC and regulated down to 13.8VDC. Sounds
like a lot of wasted energy in heat and stressed regulator components,
but I have not looked at the schematic.
